Get me into the Inquisiton reunion! - Winners!

Get me into the Inquisiton reunion! - Winners!

Bummed that the upcoming Inquisition reunion shows are sold out? Well, do we have a sweet deal for you. Rob and Thomas from the band have graciously offered to place one lucky Punknews reader and a friend on their guestlist for night one on May 18 with support from Ensign and Channel 43. Another winner and a pal will be headed to night two on May 19 with the Draft and New Mexican Disaster Squad.

And your winners are:

(May 18) Canaan from Fairfax, VA who wrote about growing up in Richmond, listening to Inquisition, and wanting to stay connected to his hometown scene: "You see even though I go to school in Fairfax I was born and raised in Powhatan Va. just outside of Richmond. My whole life I grew up in the shadow of the good ole RVA and even at school I try to stay connected to my hometown roots.

(May 19) Mike from Pittsburgh, PA who wrote about touring in 1995 and staying at a kid's house where he first heard Inquisition: "The next morning I woke up to Colton blasting some music out of his room. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Aggressive, energetic, hard but melodic. I went rushing into his room and asked"what is this? it's amazing!" he said "it's a band from Virginia called Inquistion, Im putting out their record and I just got the master today. Your the first person to hear it!" I asked if there was anyway he could make me a copy of it? he said "sure, but only if you play this for every person you know". We left later that afternoon and I spent the rest of the tour in the back of the van listening to this cassette tape in my walkman over and over and over."

Congratulations to the winners, thanks to everyone who entered, and a special thanks to Rob Huddleston for putting this contest together and picking the winners.

Murder By Death: 7-foot gatefold vinyl

Murder By Death: 7-foot gatefold vinyl

The CD may be dying but vinyl is alive and well, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the pretty awesome treatment received by Murder by Death's In Bocca al Lupo. The release features red double 10" records dipped in gold ink with a quadruple gatefold cover. All told it ends up being 7 feet long when extended and only 1000 are in existence.

It's so big that it you could put it next to your CD collection and watch the record taunt the helpless CDs before devouring them whole. It's that big.

There may be only a thousand available but we've got a copy to give away for free.

Well, first of all, if you are planning on entering just to try to and make a buck of on eBay or Craig's List, don't bother. Only the winnining name will be able to get into the show with their guest. And we've decided to make this contest a little more involved than just radomly picking somename from a list of emails. So, keeping that in mind, all entries will need to submit the following:

-An email with the subject of "Get me into the Inquisition show" sent to WhyIShouldSeeInquisition@punknews.org
-A brief explanation of why you should be going to the show instead of some other schmuck (special circumstances, witty banter, distance traveling - be creative)
-Your name, address, email address and telephone number

Two winners will be selected by May 1 (must be 16 or older or have parents permission, supply your own transportation, blah blah blah). Failure to follow the contest instructions will result in automatic disqualification and possible ridicule from the contest winners. Good luck!
