Street Dogs

Street Dogs Broken Guitar Giveaway

Today the Street Dogs delivered their new album Fading American Dream to you, the unwashed masses. In his review, News Editor Chris Moran described it as being "pure punk-influenced rock music" that involves "no gimmicks, no pseudo-image, [and] no bullshit." To celebrate, the Dogs and the Org (with a bit of help from DRT) have teamed up to give you folks the chance to win a non-functioning guitar! Talk about generous. In fact, this is the very guitar immortalized on Fading American Dream in the track "Tobe's Got a Drinking Problem" (album stream). How fancy is that? To enter, you know what to do. Click Read More and fill out our familiar form below.

Also, always remember to check out our Contests section for chances to win stuff from My Chemical Romance and Bomb The Music Industry!

80GB iPod, Logitech accessories, albums from Sparta, Sugarcult, more

Fanscape was all like "Yo Punknews, want to give some stuff out?" And I was like "Like what yo?" And they were all "An 80 gig iPod and the new albums from Sparta, Sugarcult, Plain White T's, the Summer Obsession and others." So I was like, "Aight."

Sorry about that. In truth, one grand prize winner will indeed win all of the above, as well as an AudioStation and Z-10 interactive speakers from Logitech. To enter the contest, as well as read rules and regulations, just click this handy link.

Bomb the Music Industry!: “To Leave or Die in Long Island” vinyl test pressing

Attention nerds! As previously mentioned, Bomb the Music Industry! is releasing their previously "digital only" album, To Leave or Die in Long Island, on vinyl. Why should you care? Well, they've decided to give one lucky winner a test pressing of the album. Boo-ya.

What do you have to do to win it? Well, that's not for me to decide. The band wants to know what you'd be willing to do (figuratively, of course) for a test pressing of this gem of an album. Your pals at Punknews.org will pick our 10 favorite submissions, and forward them on to BTMI!, who will choose the overall winner. Entries can be no longer than 2 sentences, with a total of 30 words of less, and must be received before the end of October 31, 2006. Send all entires in the exact format explained below, or they shall be deleted, or sent to a nasty spamming list.

Red Scare Contests
The Falcon

The Falcon haiku extravaganza

In conjunction with our good friends at Red Scare and our on-again-off-again acquaintances in the Falcon we've whipped a contest for you, our loyal readers. What makes this so awesome, you might ask? Well, the awesomeness is that the grand prize winner will be walking away with the following:

  • Copies of both the debut EP as well as the recent LP Unicornography
  • A copy of The Last Unicorn anime
  • A free ticket to the upcoming Falcon performance (provided you can get yourself there)
  • A drunken phone call from Brendan Kelly*
  • Red scare temporary tattoos*
  • An 8x10 glossy of the Chairman, complete with lipstick imprint

Well, what do you have to do win all this? Write a haiku. Dead serious.

Go Kart Contests

Go-Kart answer winner!

We've thought long and hard and finally decided upon a winner for our contest with Go-Kart Records. The duty was to answer the question PunkRadioCast posed: Why is the label so underrated? While the entries were many - as well as being hilarious, offensive and…well, mostly offensive - we have narrowed it down to just one. The winner of a box of broken CDs and a 25 dollar gift certificate to Interpunk is our own FuckYouOIOIOI. His answer was simply (drumroll please): They're not underrated they just suck.

We'd like to thank the guys at PRC for posing the question as well as Greg and everyone else at G-K for putting up with the entries, as well as putting out albums from bands like the Shocker, Anti-Flag, Rifu, I Farm, Cougars, Conflict, INDK and more.

You can download the original interview that started this whole thing from Go-Kart.
