Complete Control launches X contest

Complete Control on Indie 103.1 has launched a new contest featuring the legendary X. The band has provided five prizes including an autographed DVD of X Live in Los Angeles , A Beer on Every Page written by Exene Cervenka, Virtual Unreality written by Exene Cervenka and Just Another War by photojournalist Kenneth Jarecke with commentary by Exene Cervenka

In addition, the show has launched its series of podcasts with the first featuring interviews with Greg and Bryan of Bouncing Souls and Nick 13 of Tiger Army. For details check out the podcast page.

The show is hosted by Joe Sib of SideOneDummy / 22 Jacks. Sib is part of a radio station that features programs hosted by Henry Rollins, Kung Fu/Vandals' Joe Escalante, Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Might Bosstones and Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols.

The Loved Ones

This week the Loved Ones released their debut full length for Fat Wreck Chords. To celebrate the release of Keep Your Heart the label has teamed up with Southern Californian shoe maker Draven to give away some merch (Draven's made custom kicks for Duane Peters, the Misfits, the Adicts, the Sex Pistols, Green Day and more).

Thrasher Magazine Skate Rock vol 12

Thrasher Magazine recently released the 12th instalment of their long running Skate Rock compilation series. The audio side of the CD / DVD DualDisc features new songs from Alkaline Trio, Millencolin, Only Crime, the Riverboat Gamblers, the Heartaches (feat. Kristian Svitak), Gnarkill (feat. Bam Margera), U.S.S.R (feat. Tony Trujillo) and Die Hunns (feat. Duane Peters, of course). The DVD side features a documentary on the long and sordid relationship between skateboarding and rock music. It includes interviews with Duane Peters, Tony Trujillo and Steve Caballero as well as footage from Turbonegro's performance at the 2004 Thrasher Magazine Skater Of The Year Awards. With the Lawrence Arms' forthcoming full-length, Oh! Calcutta! due out on March 7th, Fat and the band have agreed to pay a hefty price for your love. The band will be giving away original lyric sheets and some very cool vinyl to twelve winners. Twelve songs, twelve lyric sheets and twelve winners, in case you're wondering.

While you're filling out the form, you may want to check out the bands myspace page for the second of twelve songs set to appear daily over the next few weeks.

With the Taste of Chaos set to begin in just a few weeks, Punknews.org and the tour would like to give one winner a chance to check out the show when it hits Los Angeles, California on March 30th, 2006.

To celebrate the upcoming 2006 Take Action! Tour, Punknews.org and the Take Action Tour would like to give three winners a selection of albums by bands featured on the tour.

GG Allin

Music Video Distributors will release a new DVD on February 21st titled GG Allin - Terror In America: Live 1993. MVD describes the release thusly:

In the spring of 1993, GG Allin was released from prison once again after serving the remaining year of his sentence. He was ready to continue his mission to destroy Rock & Roll and rebuild it in his name. In April, he would once again join forces with The Murder Junkies, who were anxiously waiting to stand beside him in battle. After spending time in a NYC studio recording their final album together, GG was ready to continue his onslaught against society and anyone else who stood in his way. His anger had escalated, and he was spiraling completely out of control.

To celebrate the label is giving away packages of five GG DVDs, including Hated, Live & Pissed 1998, and "best of" footage from 1991, 1992, and 1993.
