Rhino Contests

Ramones “Weird Tales” contest

The people of Rhino have offered to give one of you lucky people a complete copy of the 100-song, 3CD+DVD box set from The Ramones. We announced the set in June.

The box titled Weird Tales of the Ramones and will include classic material and videos as well as relatively rare B-sides and covers. The career-spanning collection was compiled by the late Johnny Ramone before his death in 2004. As well as a wealth of music, the box includes a comic book highlighting 25 comic book artists paying visual tribute to the band. Artists included in the book include Rick Altergott ("Doofus"), Mary Fleener, Sergio Aragones (Mad Magazine), Carol Lay, John Pound (Garbage Pail Kids/Meanie Babies), Bill Griffiths ("Zippy the Pinhead"), Xaime Hernandez ("Love and Rockets") and John Holmstrom who illustrated the back sleeve of Rocket to Russia and the front of Road to Ruin.

It has a lot of stuff. You probably want one. I know I do. But it would be kind of shady for me to win.

You can check out the player/e-card here. The label has also posted a "12 song listening party player" and you can check that out here with streams avalable in Windows Media and Realplayer formats.

Transplants

The Transplants recently released their first full-length in nearly three years, Haunted Cities, but you probably knew that already. What you didn't know -- up until this point, of course -- is that the 'Org has been blessed with the privilege to give you, one of our lucky readers, a Transplants Banzai skate deck and a bunch of swag to go with, not to mention five others receiving said swag as well. Plus, all winners will receive a T-shirt or tank top -- depending on your gender -- courtesy of Suicidegirls.

And while you're waiting to see if you've won, feel free to check out the band's video for their single "Gangsters And Thugs."
