Island Contests

The Killers

The Killers are the new hipster band of the week, which means most of you hate their Hot Hot Heat-sexing-up-with-The Strokes sound without having ever even listened to them; but that doesn't mean that they're not good. To prove it, we're gonna give away some of their music, because hey, that's what we do. Send an email to CONTEST CLOSED with your name and mailing address, and you could win either the "Somebody Told Me" b/w "The Ballad Of Michael Valentine" 7" [on pink vinyl, no less] or the "Somebody Told Me" / "The Ballad of Michael Valentine"/"Under The Gun" CD single. Please put your CD/vinyl preference in the subject of the email. One entry per person, please - that means Jeremy Grimes of Cullowhee, NC needs to stop entering before I punch him in the throat. I'll draw two winners - one for each format - next week at random.

If you haven't heard the Killers yet, what are you waiting for? Here's an e-card for your perusal, and you can stream their "Somebody Told Me" video here [Windows Media] or here [Real Video]. The Killers' debut album Hot Fuss comes out on June 15th via Island Records.
