Propagandhi

Propagandhi

One of Canada's best exports, Winnipeg's Propagandhi has been producing quality punk rock since the early 90s. Besides being one of the band's that launched Fat, the band has released a succession of genre defining records, most recently Potemkin City Limits.

I had a chance to speak with frontman Chris Hannah and you can click Read More for the results.

Trustkill Interviews
Most Precious Blood

Most Precious Blood

Brooklyn, New York's Most Precious Blood have proven, over the last few years that they are beholden to no one. The band manages to maintain a reverent tone to the classics, while constantly pushing forward with their own music and lyrics. Their most recent release, Merciless is more evidence as to why the band understands the spirit of hardcore, even if they don't sound like the bands that preceded them.

I had a chance to exchange some emails with guitarist Justin Lee Brannan about the band, Africa, Merciless and their successful label.

Western Addiction

Community member Dante3000 sat down with Fat Wreck band Western Addiction, whose latest album Cognicide just came out November 1st. They were also featured on the recent PROTECT compilation, put out by Fat, and you can catch them on tour with labelmates Propagandhi on their west coast "Crimean" tour.

You can visit the Sound Scene Revolution podcast for the complete audio interview, as well as photos taken during the interview.

Antagonist Interviews
Face to Face (1996)

Face to Face (1996)

With the release of Shoot the Moon: The Essential Face to Face, earlier this week, it seemed appropriate to run an interview I did with the band in 1996 for my 'zine, Anti-Manifesto.

The long-running band broke up in 2003 shortly after the Vagrant release of How to Ruin Everything.

The album collects material from the band's 12 year career for a total of 19 essential tracks as well as 2 that were previously unreleased. The disc includes deluxe slipcase packaging as well as extensive liner notes and rare photos.

Red Scare Interviews

Teenage Bottlerocket

GenX had a chance to speak with Laramie, Wyoming's own pop-punk superstars, Teenage Bottlerocket, writing that:

Who knew there was a punk scene in Wyoming? Well there is one, and Teenage Bottlerocket are not only the best punk band from the Cowboy State since the Lillingtons, they're also one of the big reasons a punk scene exists out there. They book local clubs, promote and work at shows, and help out their fellow punk bands in the underground hotbed that is Laramie, Wyoming.

People refer to Teenage Bottlerocket as "Pop Punk", "Ramones-core", "Weasel-core", or "Leather Jacket Punk"; but whatever it is, they certainly owe nothing to the trends. It kinda makes you grateful for a place like Wyoming. I had a chance to talk with Ray and Kody about their home state, their new record Total, and their big tour with the Groovie Ghoulies this past Summer.

The band recently released their Red Scare debut, Total.

Hydra Head Interviews

Champion

Mike Rodriguez recently sat down with Seattle, Washington-based straight edge hardcore act, Champion. The band released Promises Kept last year and compiled two of their older EPs into Time Slips Away this year. The disc includes both the Come Out Swinging and Count Our Numbers EPs which were released in 2001 and 2002.

This past spring, the band became the first independent Western act to visit Korea since Kill Your Idols and Ensign ventured there in 2001, and the first to ever tour outside the capital city of Seoul.
