Avenged Sevenfold

You asked, he answered - M. Shadows, frontman for Avenged Sevenfold tackles the real issues that you readers demanded. Among them: What type of makeup the band uses, who they want their asses kicked by, and just what they thought of the Danzig knockout video.

Vagrant Interviews

Hot Rod Circuit

InaGreendase recently had the opportunity to sit down with Andy and Jay, singer/guitarist and bassist of Hot Rod Circuit. Amongst important issues discussed: Europe, side projects, knife fights, and boxing between cereal box characters.

Hot Rod Circuit's new album Reality's Coming Through is coming out on August 24th, via Vagrant Records.

Sony Music Interviews

Amen

Brandon Sideleau recently sat down with members of Amen to talk about the band who recently released Death By Musick (reviewed here).

Braid Interviews

Braid

I had a chance to converse with Todd Bell, Damon Atkinson, Chris Broach, and Bob Nanna - collectively known as Braid - about their past, present, and future both individually and as a group.

Braid is currently out finishing up the first leg of their reunion tour with Minus The Bear, Murder By Death, and Mock Orange. They'll begin the second leg of the tour in early July with Recover and Moneen. Visit BraidTour2004.com for all dates.

Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion)

Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion)

As promised, here is part two of my interview with Bad Religion. For this interview, I spoke with Brett Gurewitz, one half of the songwriting team in the band and we used the lyrical subjects from The Empire Strikes First [review] and previous records as a jumping off point to look at some of the issues they've raised. Greg, unfortunately, couldn't participate in this part, but you can see my interview with both him and Brett that was posted on Saturday in the first part.

Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion)

Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion)

I had the opportunity to talk to Greg Graffin and Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion about their experiences in a band that spanned more than two decades and is one of the main reasons why this site is here today.

The band recently released The Empire Strikes First, which Adam reviewed. The band is also playing the Warped Tour this summer.

Because of the length, the interview is going to be split in two parts. The first part, with Greg and Brett will be posted today, the second half with Brett should be up on Wednesday.

Desoto Interviews

Davey Von Bohlen of Maritime / Mike Kinsella of Owen

"So about six months ago, I did an interview with Mike Kinsella (Owen, American Football, The Owls, etc. etc.) and Davey Von Bohlen (The Promise Ring, Maritime) while Mike was touring as a second guitarist with Maritime. What follows is approximately forty minutes of me making an ass out of myself in front of two of my favorite musicians. We talked about everything from Pugs to Ewoks, and even some music. The pain of listening to myself on tape is why it took me six months to finish it. I probably wouldn't even have done it, except Scott threatened to punch me in the throat if I didn't finish. "

Owen recently released a new EP [remarkably titled (the ep)] on Polyvinyl Records. You can read a review of that here. Maritime has their debut LP Glass Floor coming out on May 31st via DeSoto Records. If DeSoto ever decides to send us a copy of it, we'll review it.

Ferret Interviews
Funeral For A Friend

Funeral For A Friend

"Screamo, emo, metal, thrash, new-wave country - whatever, I can't keep up, this is Funeral for a Friend from the UK - another band to get its rush and nudge through a major. Now they're international and touring America, teaching me words like gar-edge [aka garage]. This was one hell of an interview to type figuring out accents and the lingo - they were very entertaining & amusing nonetheless. "

Epitaph Interviews

Pulley

Saying you've been able to release five stand-up records on Epitaph, persevere through member losses and new courses, become a punk rock staple in a decade of resilience only off a two month touring schedule; it's gotta be none other but Pulley. California-bred brilliance, their roots in punk rock bands and names are deeper than any pit and to see all the guys with Scott back from a full career in baseball; jumping straight to play stages is nothing but short of confounding. Most notably is Matters, out as of April 6th, we can finally now see Pulley touring again. A cold-front interview after their last date on the Frostbite Tour, I got a chance to meet up with Jim and Tyler at a party after. Presumably by now we're all tanked, don't be late for interviews.

Drive-Thru Interviews

The Early November

InaGreendase recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Serge, bassist of The Early November.

Something Corporate

California piano rockers Something Corporate used to hate Jordan and love punk rock princesses but now they've left through the window with a new directional release North. Latest record in hand, their touring schedule marches on giving me a chance to recently sit down with guitarist Josh before a sold out show. Here's what the voice recorder said.
