The Casualties

Jake Kolatis (The Casualties)

In 1990, The Casualties started out with an idea was to return to the "Golden Age" of street punk which they felt that had been non existent since 1985. The Casualties took their high-energy street punk out of the gutter and into a long career of producing album after album and traveling thousands of miles a year to pursue their passion. To date the Casualties have put out seven full length albums (Along with three EPs, three Live albums and were included on 10 compilations), with their eighth full length album, We Are All We Have, about to hit the streets on August 25, 2009 care of SideOneDummy Records. The guitarist of The Casualties since 1993, Jake Kolatis took some time to sit down and talk to Jonny Taint about We are all we have, touring the world, and the misconception some people have about street punks.

Aaron Scott (Attica! Attica!)

Aaron Scott is probably best known as the front man of the New York punk band Marathon. Epitaph Interviews
Frank Turner

Frank Turner (Part 2)

There are two important things to note about Frank Turner. One, he's really good. Two, he really likes to talk. Luckily for myself (Frank Corva), and you - the reader, the stuff he likes to talk about is really awesome. In the final part of our Frank on Frank action we brought things up to the present. Well known for his witty, yet sincere lyricism, Turner sheds some light on the evolution of his songwriting as he showers his heroes in praise and adulation. He also talks about what it means to mean it and why he owes Chuck Ragan a beer.

Turner's debut Love, Ire and Song is being re-released in North America by Epitaph Records. Meanwhile, its followup, Poetry of the Deed is due on the same label in September.

Bill Leary gave Brett Adams (vocalist) a ring to discuss their musical career thus far.

Jamie Morrison (The Arteries)

Currently causing waves across the UK punk underground, Welsh five-piece The Arteries may be just a bunch of friends who like to play music together and party, but with their punk anthems that mix a love of skate/pop punk and classic rock (think Descendents meets AC/DC and you're on the right track) they're one of the most exhilarating new bands on the scene as demonstrated on 2009's Blood, Sweat and Beers.

In an interview with Ian Chaddock, bassist/vocalist Jamie Morrison talks about the band's history, storming debut album and their excitement to be playing this year's Fest in Gainesville, FL.

Big D and the Kids Table

Dave McWane (Big D and the Kids Table)

After nearly 14 years in the business, road warriors Big D and the Kids Table have cemented a reputation as one of the steadiest riots in ska-punk. Released last month, their new record Big D and the Kids Table eschews the genre's clichés in favor of breezier, more accessible grooves that go a long way in making once riotous crowds take the slam out of slamdancing. In an interview with G'Ra Asim, outspoken Big D helmsman Dave McWane weighs in on Warped Tour, the band's unusually pliable aesthetic, Cookie Monster, and why the D don't look at themselves as being nearly as DIY as they're made out to be.
