Radioactivity have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Time Won’t Bring Me Down and will be out on October 31 via Dirtnap Records and Wild Honey Records. The band has released the title track. This will be their first full-length album since 2015’s Silent Kill . Radioactivity released their single “Erased / Fear” in 2019. Immersion is the electronic projected helmed by Wire's Colin Newman and Minimal compact's Malka Spigel. They'll be releasing a new record called WTF??. That's out September 26 on Swim records. Today marks the release of the new album by The Sound of Animals Fighting. The Maiden is their first full-length album in 17 years and features ten tracks that find the band at the top of their game as they lean into their experimental nature, balancing ethereal psychedelic moments with urgent heaviness. Throughout the album, they tell the story of the titular character as she faces death, journeys through the cosmos outside of time and space, and is reborn on Earth where she uncovers the decay at the heart of Western civilization. "The Only One" starts off with a bright, soaring sound before submerging down into a sort of coldly, vicious takedown. "Your not the only one" sneers vocalist Chris Mason while the band rumbles out big, broad, riffs. At once, it has the cold brutality of the 80s post-punkers like Gang of Four and Tubeway army, while retaining that heart-on-the-sleeve affect of classic orgcore. Also, it has a handbreak stop, which makes it that much more vicious… Lou Reedian, even.
Speaking to Punknews about the track, Mason stated: ""I wrote 'The Only One' over 5 years ago for a different band that never got off the ground because of Covid. Around the time Faulty Cognitions were finishing up the writing process for the new record, I stumbled upon a demo of the song and brought it to practice. We locked in pretty quickly and decided to record it. I'm pretty sure we did it in one take. 4 chord punk FTW!"

Back in August, Lincoln, Nebraska-based VEMPIRE released their album The New Invincible. Over the course of one new track, a Devo cover, and eight remixes (including songs from their 2024 record Your Steps and a remix of their cover of “Always Forever” by Cults), the duo, made up of Lindsey Yoneda and Punknews writer Mike Elfers, dive deep into their gothic, post-punk-y, synth-filled, and extremely danceable.
