Dan picked that song to talk about, and we get insider info on the recording of the song, how he came up with his drum parts, and his thoughts on his former bandmate's lyrics. Thought the recording was marred by technical difficulties-because of course one of the most important recording of the show thus far would be-everything turned out alright, with a twist ending! John was an early fan of the band and then lost touch with their music in the 90s, coming back to it with their kid’s albums when he became a dad. Hear us talk about how “Apartment 4” off of Here Come the 123s is not only a great kids song, but simply a great song.”

Corn Mo appears on This Might Be A Podcast

Punknews contributor Greg Simpson has introduced This Might Be a Podcast, a show for They Might Be Giants superfans. On this episode, Musician Jon Cunningham, known by his stage name Corn Mo, is an accordionist, keyboardist and vocalist who has created music ranging genres from classical to glam to crazy circus freak-outs. He has toured the world solo, with his band .357 Lover, and with Tragedy, a metal tribute to the Bee Gees. He's toured opening for They Might Be Giants, Ben Folds, and has played in Andrew WK's backing band. On this episode, Corn Mo talks with Greg about the They Might Be Giants song that he sings guest lead vocals on, "No Cops." The song is from the 2015 Dial-a-Song cycle and later appeared on vinyl and CD on My Murdered Remains in 2018. Corn Mo gives insider info on the song recording and video shoot, and the episode also gives a primer to those uninitiated in his eclectic musical career.

Longtime Punknews contributor Tom Trauma and first wave UK punker Liverpool Neil will talk about all things punk, from the perspective of more than 70 years combined involvement in the scene. Current events may be discussed, but 30 year old stories are more likely. They will talk about the records, past and present, that make life worth living. They will talk to the people responsible for the scenes they grew up in, as well as the people making the best noise today.
