Saskatchewan-based three piece garage punk act Ultimate Power Duo are set to release their new record The New Normal on March 17th. The band recorded with producer David J. Taylor (Despistado, Sylvie, Geoff Berner), crafting a 13 track album that finds the once fairly irreverent band taking a darker turn. It follows up 2006's We're In Control Now.

Jimmie, previously of the band Shotgun & Jaybird, collaborated with Welland, Ontario's Attack in Black on the new record. The bands toured together last year, and the camaraderie followed them into Attack In Black's home studio. The resulting recording is helps launch You've Changed, a new label recently formed by members of Attack in Black, the The Constantines, and Miracle Fortress. This March both Attack In Black and Shotgun Jimmie will hit the US for their debut tour in the country.
