Temporary Residence has begun a pre-order for their highly anticipated split between Japan's Envy and New Jersey's Thursday. The label had this to add about the album:
Recorded in Spring 2008, both bands turn in some of their most inspired work yet. In addition, Thursday invited Anthony Molina of Mercury Rev to remix the dark instrumental "In Silence" into the pitch-black closing track, "Appeared And Was Gone," providing the perfect transition into the massive dynamics of Envy. Beginning with the subtle electronics of the symphonic opener, "An Umbrella Fallen Into Fiction," Envy thrashes and burns through a trio of thoughtful face-melters.
The set is pessed on audiophile-quality 180 gram vinyl and featuring original artwork by acclaimed poster artist, Dan Grzeca and includes a copy of the entire LP on CD as well.
You can check out a preview of a song from each of the participants on their respective Punknews.org Profiles: Envy and Thursday.
You can pre-order the split directly from the label here and stay tuned for a special contest beginning in October held right here on Punknews.org.
Time for another full album stream, this one comes from Boston, MA-based The Serious Geniuses. A recent review described the band thusly:
Mid-to-late 90's power-post punk with a heavy nod in the direction of "Icky Mettle" era Archers of Loaf […] Pavement, Ben Lee and others set forth, with the good, crunchy bits of "Bivouac"-era Jawbreaker tossed in for good measure.

What happens when members of influential hardcore bands like City Of Caterpillar, Majority Rule, malady and pg.99 get together? Well, something very different than you might expect, and that something is Pygmy Lush.
Their first record, Bitter River (Robotic Empire), was noise-punk tracks mixed in with some of the quieter songs. Those more restrained songs, which had at first been an aside, began to over take the set: "Still filled to the brim with a sense of abandon, only here they have put down their angst for introspection, traded their aggression for a slow grit. "
