• Pitchfork sparked an interesting discussion about how little bands make through Spotify and Pandora.
• Blink-182 are celebrating the holidays by promising to release a new EP around Christmas time.
• A new, previous unreleased song from Rancid surfaced.
• Rancid's Tim Armstrong also released new music from his side project, Tim Timebomb and Friends.
• Brody Dalle, formerly of The Distillers and Spinnerette, announced the completion of her first solo effort.
• Bad Religion weighed in on their upcoming release, True North
• Marky Ramone of The Ramones announced he will be participating in an online autograph session.

Q: "Ramonescore". Not the "genre", but the word itself: Accurate and playful description of a bands sound? Or just an incredibly dorky, lazy, and just generally lame way to describe a bands sound?

A: I wouldn't say it's a lazy way of describing a band's sound. It just helps separates certain pop punk bands from others. I always have a problem where people say they like pop punk and I say I do too. They then tell me their favorite pop punk bands which include stuff like Man Overboard, The Wonder Years, Fireworks, etc and I end up being disappointed because that's not the pop punk I like. I think those bands lean more towards the pop side of pop punk whereas Ramones-core bands lean more towards the punk side of pop punk because those bands obviously are using the pop punk formula that the Ramones made so popular. So, saying I like "Ramonescore" pop punk helps people from making crappy mixes for me.

(I am a complete sucker for "Ramonescore" pop punk)

• Blink-182 released a t-shirt design with all proceeds from the sales going towards relief for Hurricane Sandy.
• Rolling Stone released an interesting article on how technology has affected the music industry.
• A band was accused of cheating in an online unsigned act competition by AMP magazine.
• No Doubt pulled down their new video for the track, "Looking Hot', after complaints from the Native American community.

Q: I often hear that "punk" means something different than it did in its earliest days. Do you agree? Is this difference a good thing or a bad thing?

A: Being that I am part of a newer generation of punk I don't feel I am completely qualified to answer this question but I do believe the Clash summarize this answer perfectly:

"From every dingy basement on every dingy street,
Every dragging handclap over every dragging beat,
It's just the beat of time, the beat that must go on,
If you've been trying for years we've already heard your song."
