• The Menzingers released a new song from their highly anticipated Epitaph Records release.
• We asked you to vote for your favorite album from 2011.
• After finally announcing the details of his solo project that's been in the works, Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds released the art and track listing for his upcoming EP.
• If you were one of the people that complained about Ticketmaster's excessive fees within the past 12 years then you may find solace in the fact that a class lawsuit was filed against the company.
• Continuing his ongoing support for the Occupy movement, NOFX front man, Fat Mike, discussed the movement and plans for new 7-inches in a recent interview.
• The Warped Tour announced the first batch of bands from their lineup.
• The Roots now must run all their song choices by the network after playing and dedicating Fishbone's "Lyin' Ass Bitch" to Michelle Bachmann.

Q: Do you want to fight any of the other punk news site? Can we set this up and get it on PPV so the site can run ad free for the rest of existence?

A: Interesting question but the answer is, no other punk site. Not because I'm flying some horseshit banner of unity but because every other Punk news site is run by nerds who have allowed their physical being to atrophy to disgusting levels of disuse. I'd imagine I could topple most of them simply by shinning natural light on them or by producing a strong breeze (notably excluded from this list is Alternative Press, who isn't exclusively a site and who posses to of the finest specimen of mankind in "Swift" Bryne Yancey and Scott "The destroyer" Heisel. Both are worthy adversaries).

So, until those other slackjawed, lolygaggers get themselves into fighting shape we're going to have to keep running ads.

• After raising an impressive amount of $80,000 through Kickstarter for their new record, Five Iron Frenzy shattered that number by reaching a whopping $150,000 in pledges.
• NOFX's Fat Mike supported the 99% by closing his Bank of America account and asked Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba to join him for a performance at Occupy LA.
• Blink 182's Travis Barker was invited to have a meeting with the LAPD after complaining about their previous meeting.
• The Riot Before announced the somber news that they have decided to call it a day.
• Tom Gabel made a brief announcement via his twitter that Against Me! have begun working on their first album for their own label, Total Treble Music.
• .The Lawrence Arms announced a few dates for their upcoming "tour".
• A Toronto restaurant has a logo eerily similar to that of the iconic Black Flag logo.

Q: If your neck beard connects to your chest hair, does it cease to be a neck beard and become a full-body beard? inquiring minds would like to know.

A: Perhaps. However, the rule of body hair is the more that's connected, the worse. There are certain exceptions, beards are okay, mustaches are okay. A Beard with a mustache is okay. However, things like the handlebar mustache to sideburns, not okay. The chest hair that connects to your back hair? not okay.

I'm not a fan of the "hairless" male idea but I do think there is a point where you cease looking manly and start looking yeti. Don't cross that line.

• The former vocalist for Love Equals Death was found in possession of meth but claims the cops set him up.
• NOFX's Eric Melvin and Fat Mike paid a visit to Occupy San Francisco to perform a new protest song.
• Thursday have decided to call it a day after a 14 year run.
• Big D and the Kids Table's David McWane was diagnosed with thyroid cancer forcing the band to cancel their current tour.
• Turns out that Spotify isn't the only streaming service that record labels are mad at.
• Thrice are not breaking up and they're not taking a hiatus; they're just not going to be a full-time band for a while.
