Here's your question and answer of the week from the Punknews Formspring:

Q: Certainly, to like a female artist's music simply because she is attractive would be demeaning. But, what's wrong with thinking a female musician is hot in addition to liking her music? I just can't deny my base instincts. A: There's nothing wrong with finding someone attractive, it's just that those two things are mutually exclusive and (quite frankly) nobody really cares how attractive (or not) you find someone. If an artist comes into conversation on Punknews (or elsewhere) and your only contribution to the conversation is a comment on their looks it doesn't really add anything substantive to the discussion. Your base instincts are fine and dandy, just keep them in your pants.

Here's your question and answer of the week from the Punknews Formspring:

Q:

Also - in the last podcast, you mentioned that some bands pretty much put out the same record over and over again, but in a good way. Like who, in your humble opinion? A:

There's a fine line here between tediously putting out the same album and having a so-called "winning formula." Bad Religion's in the latter camp for me. I love them, but their sound and approach is so stable and established at this point that you could consider them to be putting out the "same album" again and again. As it's a great album, I'm personally ok with that.

Here's your question and answer of the week from the Punknews Formspring:

Q:

If the punknews staff is so fond of White Crosses then why did its review get only 2.5 stars? A:

Our reviews reflect only the opinion of the reviewer. It is not "the voice of the site" in the same way a review in a magazine is. We are, first and foremost, a user-generated content site and community. The editors and staff who liked the record didn't write the review. It's that simple.
