Diet Cig

Diet Cig cancel winter tour

Diet Cig have cancelled their winter tour dates that were set to begin later this month. The band announced this in a statement on their Instagram page that reads in part,

"genuinely so sad to announce that our winter tour dates are canceled due to covid never-endingly raging through our communities we’re not rescheduling these dates. to be honest we’re so burnt out from the constant reschedule-cancel-reschedule-cancel cycle and are accepting this as a chance to take a breather, keep focusing on new music, and prepare to put on the best show possible once it’s safe

we’re so sorry to anyone who’s disappointed, we’re disappointed too. if you know us at all you know playing live is the main reason we treasure getting to make music together, the connection with y’all is unparalleled when we’re able to get up there and dance and scream and holler together. it’s really important for us to put our safety, the safety of our crew AND our fans first though, and it just feels too sketchy out there.

we love you so much, can’t wait to see ya once it’s less scary out there.

Diet Cig released their album Do You Wonder About Me? in 2020. See the post in full below.

Brian Fallon delays US tour

Brian Fallon has announced that he will be cancelling the first two weeks of his upcoming US tour with The Dirty Nil and Worriers due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. Refunds will be available for the cancelled shows. The tour will now start on January 25 at Park West in Chicago. A statement posted on his Instagram page reads in part,

"Out of an abundance of caution I’ve decided that I’m going to cancel the first two weeks of my US tour. It will now begin on January 25th in Chicago at Park West. My hope is that by delaying the start of the tour cases will come down, especially in the Northeast. They may not, but this is a decision I feel puts me, my audience, and the touring party in the best place possible for the tour to actually happen. It’s weird times, it’s my best guess. I’m sorry to those of you who had tickets for the cancelled dates, hopefully I’ll see you again soon."

Meshuggah reschedule US tour due to medical issue

Meshuggah have announced rescheduled tour dates for their American tour. The tour was set to take place in February but will now take place in September and October due to a health issue within the band. A statement released by the band on social media reads in part,

"While the ongoing pandemic has been throwing various curve balls on us all the past year, ultimately delaying the completion of the upcoming Meshuggah studio album - there are other concerns that have forced us to make this unfortunate decision. Determining factor is the need to prioritize the physical health of one of the band members who is currently undergoing medical treatment related to a skin condition on his hands, hindering him from rehearsals and from all in all playing his instrument. While we are optimistic for his future recovery we know it will not be possible for him and the band to be ready to perform already in February 2022."

Converge who was previously announced as one of the openers will not be on the new dates and a replacement has yet to be announced. In their statement Converge said that they "are working on something in place of this tour". Torche will continue to play support. All previously purchased tickets will remain valid at the new dates.
