Street Dogs broken guitar finds a home

The results are in and I'd just like to say congratulations to Matt P. of Taylorsville, UT on his winning of Tobe's broken guitar! It was a heated decision, but in the end randomness won out and he rose to the top. Thanks to all that entered as well as DRT/Brass Tacks and the Street Dogs for their choice of prizes.

Matt takes home the very guitar referenced by the 'Dogs in the track "Tobe's Got a Drinkin' Problem" from their new album Fading American Dream.

So my man Terry Morrow from Chicagoland Orgcore trio Ryan's Hope told me that his band was joining Zox, Epitaph young guns the Matches, Australia's the Living End and new post Blink-182 project +44 for a shindig this weekend in Milwaukee. I told him that there was no way the Hope could play that show… not unless we could send a few lucky readers along for the ride.

So are you free this Saturday, December 2nd? Want to go to a rock show? Want some free Punknews schwag? If so then by all means click below and let us know!

Owen

Owen

Yes, Mike Kinsella was in Owls, Cap'n Jazz, American Football and Joan of Arc and that resume would be hard to follow, but follow it he did, and the result was the plaintive, soft Owen.

Since Owen just released their first album since 2004's wonderful I Do Perceive, it seems like we should celebrate in the only way we know how; giving stuff away.

Raised Fist

Raised Fist Vs. Quebec & Ontario

Let's try this again shall we? In September Sweden's Raised Fist were set to lay waste to Canada (well, Quebec and Ontario at least) in support of their 2006 full length Sound of the Republic. We even had a contest to get you fine folks in the doors… then the tour was cancelled. Vocalist Alle apparently injured his ribs by dressing up like a bat and fighting crime (or something like that).

Well in honour of the band's rescheduled December tour dates we've resurrected our earlier ticket giveaway. We're giving away a pair of tickets for each date on the tour, so check below to enter. Note that if you entered already in the earlier version of this contest, you've got to enter again now. We're mean like that.
