Sadly, rock and roll pioneer Little Richard passed away today. He was 87. The cause of death was bone cancer. Singer and songwriter Brian Anthony Howe passed away on Wednesday, May 6 at age 66. His cause of death was cardiac arrest. Brian Howe was the lead singer on Ted Nugent’s album Penetrator, the lead singer of Bad Company from 1986-1994, as well as releasing several solo albums. Dave Greenfield, the keyboardist, sometimes singer, and songwriter for The Stranglers, has passed away at age 71. According to a statement from the band, Dave Greenfield was in the hospital due to heart problems and tested positive for COVID-19. He passed on the night of Sunday, May 3. Sadly, Nick Helm has passed away. Nick was the drummer for up and coming Dallas based punks Noogy. Noogy were recently announced to be playing Punk Rock Bowling, and had built a strong following both in Texas and abroad. We send our condolences to the friends, family, and fans of Nick and Noogy.
Derek Jones, guitarist of Falling in Reverse passed away earlier this week. He was 35. The cause of death is unknown. Along with singe Ronnie Radke, Jones was the only other member of the band that was in all of its lineups. Radke stated: "I’ll never forget when you picked me up from jail In Your old tour van to start falling in revers. Your spirit will be interwoven through the music I write forever. Sadly, Jimmy Webb, passed away. He was 62. The reported cause of death is cancer. Webb spent decades as a stylist contributing to the iconic looks of many punk rockers, famous unknown, including Blondie, Patti Smith, Ramones, New York Dolls, and many, many more. Webb worked for decades at the renown East Village Trash and Vaudeville. He recently opened up his own I Need More Shop. We send our condolences to his family, friends, and fans. Sadly, yesterday, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV passed away at age 70. Genesis had been battling leukemia for almost three years. Former member of the Patti Smith Group and talented guitarist and song-writer, Ivan Kral has passed away at age 71. Ivan Kral was a founding member of the Patti Smith Group and co-wrote “Dancing Barefoot” and “Ask the Angels”.
