Frank Smith, Hulzsum, Chyme

Austin-via-Boston act Frank Smith (The Lot Six, Drexel) will return with a new album in 2009, their sixth overall. The album will be titled Big Strike in Silver City and was recorded at The Bubble in Austin TX by Alex Lyon. You can check out the song "Highway Eyes" at Austin Sound.

Oklahoma/Missouri based Hulzsum will release a new single titled Babylon Lies In Ruin on January 14th, 2009. The new music from the "experimental punk rock band" should be available via iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and other digital stores.

Innerstrength Records has signed Washington, DC based grind / metal act Chyme. The band plans to enter the studio in early February to record their as-yet-untitled debut full length. A late Spring release is planned.

Falcongate, Unwelcome Guests, The May 4th Massacre

Hungary's Falcongate is set to release a new album entitled Disappear Here due December 10th. You can listen to two new songs off that record on their MySpace page The page also features the band's video for the song "Where's The Beat?"

Buffalo, NY's Unwelcome Guests have posted a new song online. The song is called "Waiting" and it's going to be on a split 7" with a band called Saint Sweetheart from Florida, which will be coming out on Traffic St. Records. You can listen to it at their MySpace page.

Newark, DE's The May 4th Massacre have posted four demos to their MySpace page. The band is currently writing new material.

The Framed, Holy Hounds, Radio Brigade

Minneapolis punk band The Framed have posted a new song online titled "The One." The track appears on their upcoming full length Angels And The Knives They Carry, which is due out early next year. The band recorded this fall at The Terrarium in Minneapolis with Eric Olson and Dave Gardner (Dillinger Four, Teethgrinder) at the helm.

In early December Battle Creek, Michigan's Holy Hounds will enter Oceans Studio in Lansing, MI to record with engineer Christopher Neu. The band, which cites Bear Vs Shark, Small Brown Bike, and Hot Water Music as influences, plan to record 14 songs for a full length to be titled Cigarettes on Vinyl. There is no release date yet planned for the album.

Örebro, Sweden's Radio Brigade, which features former members of Bombshell Rocks and the Peepshows has five songs up online at MySpace.

The Catastrophe, Mute, One Hundred Year Ocean

PJ, from Pittsburgh, PA's Punchline, has a new side project called The Catastrophe. The band currently has two tracks streaming on their MySpace page.

Quebec, Canada's Mute will be heading out to Europe in April and May of 2009 to tour in support of their new full length The Raven. You can find tour dates on the group's MySpace page.

Willmantic, CT's One Hundred Year Ocean has posted a new song The song is called "Smells Like Ohyo" and it is from the upcoming full length The Hideous Triumph Of Form & Function. More details can be found one at the band's label.

Scatterbox, Ends Like This, Johnny Madcap and The Distractions

Coeur D Alene, ID's Scatterbox have posted a new live track from their recent show with The Misfits on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, Washington. The song is part of a full live set professionally recorded, that will become part of a pre-order for the new studio album titled "ENEMIES", which has a street date of February 10th, 2009. The track is available on the band's MySpace page.

Karlstad, Värmlands län Sweden's Ends Like This have announced via their MySpace page that they have broken up, but also announced that their album The Evil Record of Doom …From Hell was released on November 22 on Fast Life Records in Japan.

Los Angeles, CA's Johnny Madcap and The Distractions have posted a brand new song on their MySpace page. The song is called "American Gossip" and is the first recording by the whole band. Check it out and also you can catch the band at their first headlining LA show at The Scene in Glendale, CA on November 26th.

The Spears, Lockstep, Deadlights

Chris Barrows' (Pink Lincolns) side project the Spears have completed its first batch of new material since the band's 2007 7" People are Bad. The band, featuring members of Hated Youth, Down by Law and D.R.I, will release their debut full-length this spring.

Indianapolis' own Lockstep has posted two new songs from the band's forthcoming full-length. You can check out "Hovey St." and "Phoenix Lament" on MySpace.

Deadlights (ex- Ace Combat, the Angry Toaster) has posted their new EP The Noisy Shore online. The tracks are available for streaming here.

Rumspringer, XTV, Killed By the Bull

Ryan and Wes, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona's Streetside Prophet, have a new band called Rumspringer. You can check out six of the band's songs on their MySpace page.

X-TV, french acoustic trio featuring one member of Uncommonmenfrommars, has announced a brand new album, Three Is A Crowd, available for download on Monday December 1st. The band plans to release a deluxe digipak of the album before the year's end. More info can be found on the group's MySpace page.

Toronto, ON's The Little Millionaires are currently streaming their EP DIY Is An STD on their MySpace page. The band is gearing up for a split on Black Pint records.

New Haven, CT's Deadlights is streaming their debut EP The Noisy Shore on their MySpace page. The band also announced in a bulletin plans to put a limited number of digital download copies available on their site fore free for a limited time.

Jonathan Lullo and Dan Shepard from Batavia, NY's Down To Earth Approach have started a new band called The Seams.The band currently has a MySpace page, but no music uploaded yet.

Hearts Divided, Rebuilt, Valina

Bremerton, WA's Hearts Divided has finished recording five songs at Monkey Trench Studios with Mike Herrera ([[MxPx]]). Pictures and videos from the studio are available at the group's MySpace page.

Seattle, WA's Rebuilt have set the dates for an extensive new year tour through January and February. The band has also released their debut seven inch through Silly Girl Records. More info, of course, is available at the group's MySpace page.

Austria's Valina has signed to Joyful Noise. The group will release their third full length, A Tempo! A Tempo! in the US through their new label. The band recorded the album with legendary producer Steve Albini and released it in their native land earlier this year. A song from the album is available here.
