Elephant March, Straight Jacket 4 Nixon, Longway

Half of the now defunct Chicago act Skies We Built have formed a new band called Elephant March. A song from the new group is available to download via MySpace, expect it to appear on an EP that's in the works now.

Darrell Qualls, formerly of the southern metal group Payback, has joined Alabama based Straight Jacket 4 Nixon. The band will head into the studio in September to record a new record for Trifekta Records. A few of the band's demos are online now at MySpace.

Old Shoe Records artist Longway, who was voted "best punk band in Orange County" at the Orange County Music Awards, will play the remaining dates of this year's Warped Tour. The band was picked by Kevin Lyman to be the BBQ band on this year's tour. The Old Shoe Records Booth at the tour will feature a free compilation CD featuring Longway, the Generators, Sederra, Los Creepers, Far From Finished and others.

Killtakers, The Chronic, Cheap Tragedies

Former Killtakers singer, Ben Clemons, has formed a new project. Red Sky Nights has just finished recording their Demo EP, available on vinyl September 23, and will be streaming the entire EP this week on their myspace page. The EP features Ben Kettleson from Boston based The Glow on keys.

Toronto's The Chronic have put up two songs online. Check them out on their MySpace Cheap Tragedies have posted two videos from their recent trip to Canuckistan and a few songs online. The tracks come from their upcoming 7"'s and LP. You can check out the videos here and here. A preview of the opener for the LP Zodiac has been posted on Mad at the World's myspace page. Tragical History Tour, Hot Skin, NO People

Perth, Scotland's Tragical History Tour has posted new music online at MySpace. The band will be releasing a new EP This Is Not A Luxury in August, to be followed soon after with a split LP with fellow Scottish punks 15 Minutes. The band's label Make-That-A-Take Records will also soon be issuing a compilation CD later this summer featuring bands like Ghost Mice, The Arteries, The Hijacks, Taking Chase and many more.

Members of Prescott, Arizona's Hour Of The Wolf have formed a side project titled Hot Skin. The band has posted two tracks online at MySpace.

Philadelphia, PA metal act NO People has posted four new demo recordings online at MySpace. The five piece features vocalist Bob Meadows of A Life Once Los, guitarist Nate Localio and drummer Colby Chase of avant-metal band Jekylnhyde, guitarist Will Schaeffer, and bassist Josh Gowton.

Allentown, NJ's hardcore Far From Out has posted a new three song demo recording online. You can check out "Destructo," "What Ya Know" and "Off The Real" on MySpace.

Saint Charles, Missouri Flailing Uterus, has released their debut EP for free to download through Blessed Milk Records. You can also stream the 5 song, 9 minute work via Last.fm.

Cleveland, Ohio hardcore act SSCP have a number of shows on the way with bands like Nightmare Mode and Six6Sick. The band will tour throughout the US midwest and east coast from July through October of this year. Check their MySpace page for details.

Forever Wings Fold have posted two songs from their forthcoming EP, Bravura. The album was recorded with Daniel Castleman (As I Lay Dying, Austrian Death Machine, I Am Ghost) at Tim Lambesis's home studio in San Diego, CA. You can find the songs on their myspace page.

Upstate New York's The Knockdown has posted three new songs on thier myspace page. The band will be releasing their debut full length, Test/Retest, this summer on Kiss of Death Records and will be touring through out the East Coast and Mid West this August and September. Rogue Set, Echoes of Harpers Ferry, No Target Audience

New Haven, Connecticut's Rogue Set have posted two new songs on online, titled "Don't worry" and "Sunrise Revamp." The tracks will be released as part of their new record Shake Those Hands on July 24th. This record is a follow-up to their 2007 release The Elm City Shuffle.

Cleveland, Ohio's Echoes of Harpers Ferry have posted a new unmastered song from their upcoming full-length Never Forget. The album will arrive this year via Lock and Key Collective. Tour dates can also be found at MySpace.

Kent, Ohio's No Target Audience released their new 5-song EP Gifts and Returns this past weekend with a gig at the Soggy Dog House in Cleveland. The band has now embarked on a two week tour of the US east coast and midwest in support of it. Dates and sound samples can be found at MySpace.

Mindhook, Have Nots, Feels Like July

St. Charles, Missouri's one-man folk/punk band Mindhook (aka Brett Flinch) has released his record Growing Up Is… as a free download. The album was released by Flinch's label Blessed Milk Records. You can download the release from Mediafire.

Boston ska/punk act Have Nots are in the studio working on their first record. The group, which features members of Stray Bullets and Chicago Typewriter, has a number of studio journal entries on their MySpace page detailing the hijinks. Tour dates commence next week and those can be found at the `space as well.

Topshelf Records has signed Boston's Feels Like July, which they compare to the likes of Circa Survive, the Juliana Theory, At The Drive In and As Tall As Lions.
