Minority Threat: 'Culture Control'

Today, Punknews is very excited to debut the new EP by Minority Threat.

This band kicks out jagged, vitriolic, vicious hardcore. On Culture Control, the band examines a post-Ferguson world through 60-second long bursts of anger. This is the kind of wild, political hardcore we need in 2015 .

The release is out this Friday via Head2Wall Records. You can pre-order here and here. Meanwhile, you can hear the entire EP right here.

Bangers

Bangers: 'Bird'

Today, Punknews is excited to stream the new album by Bangers. On Bird, the band still has their pop-punk influence, but they venture into nastier waters. The new album is more jagged, ragged and savage. They still have that reflective, world-weary vision, but now, there's something a little darker behind those eyes.

The album is out August 10 via Specialist Subject Records. You can pre-order it here. Meanwhile you can see the band's tour dates below and check out the whole album at their their Punknews.org Profile

Earth Girls: 'Someone I'd Like to Know'

Today, Punknews is excited to debut the new EP by Chicago, IL-based Earth Girls. On the new 7-inch, Someone I'd Like to Know, the band snaps together a killer merger of the Ramones' softer side with the jittery snap of The Rezillos. Throw in a little bit of '90s Slumberland influence and a girtty garage rock facade, and you've got a pretty rockin' eight minutes of summer here. Liz Panella, who was in Libyans, fronts the band, and while this is a little more bubbly than Libyan's hardcore slashing, she keeps a good deal of that harder edge underneath this bopping sheen.

The release is out soon via Dirt Cult Records and you can pre-order here. Meanwhile, you can listen to the whole thing right now on the band's Punknews.org Profile

69 Enfermos

69 Enfermos: 'Beyond Borders'

If you live in Colombia, then you know 69 Enfermos. Raised on NOFX, Lagwagon and No Use for a Name, the band took that famous Epi-Fat sound and translated it into their own culture. The band's new album, Beyond Borders, which is their first all-English release, finds them worshipping at yon alter of Fat while also injecting their own history and local perspective into the tunes. The album is out soon and you can pre-order here.

But, until then, you can hear the whole thing, right now, at the band's Punknews.org Profile

No Weather Talks: 'Undoing Defeat'

Today Punknews is pleased to debut the new album by Germany's No Weather Talks. On Undoing Defeat, the band takes pop-punk hooks and interjects a little of that classic No Idea Records records jangle. Also, while the band switches their sound between sweet and ragged, they often focus on some pretty heavy topics-- check out the ripping "Nazi Scum Has Gotta Die."

The record is out this Tuesday via No Idea. You can pre-order the record here. Meanwhile, you can listen to the whole thing right now on the band's Punknews.org Profile

The Decline!

The Decline: 'Resister'

Today's stream comes from Perth, Australia-based The Decline. On Resister, the band puts an Aussie spin on skate-punk. If those great '90s Fat comps were released down under, this is what they would sound like. The album is out on Pee Records next week and you can pre-order it here.

Meanwhile, you can hear the whole thing at the band's Punknews.org Profile.

Boyfriend Material: 'Far From Home'

Today, Punknews is pleased to debut the new album by Boyfriend Material, Far From Home. A solo project by Gainsville's Shauna Healey, Boyfriend Material finds the singer/songwriter cutting sweet, jagged tunes on her ukelele. At times, she plays up the the songbird angle, layering her gentle vocals over the a dreamy backdrop. At others, she strikes the strings with force, making the tunes bombastic and ragged. These tunes are compact, personal and surprising.

The album is out June 9, 2015 via Community Records. You can pre-order it here. Meanwhile, you can hear the whole thing below.
