• Make Do and Mend responded to accusations of selling out.
• Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace gave her first on-camera interview.
• We celebrated our 100th episode of the Punknews Podcast by gracing you all with the lovely faces of Punknews.
• No Age announced that they will be headlining the Anti-Walmart protest in L.A.'s Chinatown.
• Green Day released the trailer and details for the second album of their upcoming 3-part release.

Q: While watching American Hardcore, it was pretty clear that this era of music was a reaction to Reagan's politics. Which contemporary hardcore bands do you think the fit the bill as a reaction to today's legislation choices, policies, economy and politics?

A: Since its creation there are punk bands who serve as a direct retaliation to a certain political movement (Reagan of the 80s, G.W. Bush etc). But, these bands tend to be incredibly boring in the long haul. Look at Dead Kennedys, one of the most outspoken bands against Reagan. The music they've all gone on to make in the years since is so much different than DK and isn't (for the most part) aimed at a single political figure or movement because as soon as that person is out of office it's almost silly to expect a band to carry on in that tradition.

But I like bad music, so there's that.

Q: If you had $75 billion to spend over the next four years and your goal was to advance human welfare, especially in the developing world, how could you get the most value of your money? smile

A: Build energy efficient, high speed rail in America. This would greatly decrease not only our pollution but our overall consumption of fossil fuel, freeing it up for countries that aren't as advanced as us. Let's be honest the train system in America is a joke and for travel of less than 600 miles a high speed train could complete replace flight. It would change the way America travels and our carbon foot print.
