Simple Plan release trailer for upcoming documentary

Simple Plan have released the first official trailer for their upcoming documentary Simple Plan: The Kids in the Crowd. The documentary was produced by Sphere Media and directed by Didier Charrette. The film will feature archival footage as well as footage from their 2024 world tour. Interviews with Avril Lavigne, Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, Fat Mike of NOFX, members of The Offspring, Sum 41, Papa Roach, Good Charlotte, and more will be included. It will be out on July 8 on Prime Video. Simple Plan released their album Harder Than It Looks in 2022. Check out the trailer below.

Sundowner (TO), Casper Skulls, Newfound Interest in Connecticut, more to play zFAM BBQ 2025

zFAM BBQ has announced its lineup for this year. Sundowner (Toronto), North of America, Status / Non-Status, Casper Skulls, By Divine Right, Newfound Interest in Connecticut, Cellar Dwellers, Heavy Sweater, Oil Giant, Quotas, and Sunnsetter will be playing the festival. zFAM BBQ will take place at Knights Hall in Brantford, Ontario on September 6.

Gen and the Degenerates release new song with new lineup

Gen and the Degenerates have announced that bassist Jay Humphreys and guitarist Jacob Jones have stepped away from the band in order to look after their mental health. The band announced this in an Instagram statement which reads in part,

”Jake and Jay have decided to step away from the band to prioritise their mental health. As the band has gotten busier they’ve realized that they aren’t suited to the touring lifestyle. It’s important for their wellbeing that they take a different path but we are still all best friends and love each other lots. Jake will still be running our studio and I’m sure you’ll still see Jay at shows and chatting in the discord. We hope you’ll all be understanding and supportive of them as they make this scary but important life change.”

The band is now made up of Genevieve Glynn-Reeves, Sean Healand-Sloan, and Evan Reeves. The band has also released their first new song as a three-piece called “Wahoo”. Gen and the Degenerates released their album Anti-Fun Propaganda in 2024. Check out the new song and post in full below.

Sarah Rose of Sarah Rose Project talks her debut solo album

Earlier this month, Sarah Rose Project, the solo project of Sarah Rose of Sarah and the Safe Word, released her debut self-titled solo album. The eleven tracks are nothing short of sonic alchemy as Sarah weaves together elements from hot jazz, rock ’n’ roll, blues, country, and punk to create a sound that will have you dancing until the sun comes up. The lyrics are visual and action-packed, each song drawing you in and bringing you along for the ride. Much like a great night out, once you press play on Sarah Rose Project you’ll wish it would never end.

Dusk Before Dawn to release debut album

Ajax-based post-hardcore band Dusk Before Dawn have announced that they will be releasing their debut album. The album is called A Degree in Mourning and will be out on June 28. The album includes 10 tracks including their previously released singles “Zoloft Fever Dreams” and “Fish Bones” which were released earlier this year.

End It to release debut full-length album, share “Pale Horse” video

End It have announced that they will be releasing their debut full-length album. It is called Wrong Side of Heaven and will be out on August 29 via Flatspot Records. The band has also released a video for their new song “Pale Horse” which was directed by Noah Haycock. End It released their Audiotree Live Session in 2023 and released their EP Unpleasant Living in 2022. Check out the video and tracklist below.
