Coachella 2026 is April 10-12 and repeated April 17-19, Sabrina carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G headline. However, a few punk and punkish bands are also on the bill including Iggy Pop, Devo, Joyce Manor, David Byrner Ceremony, DRAIN, Turnstile, Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies and more. The Velvet Underground to close after 30 years

Toronto-based venue The Velvet Underground has announced that it will be closing at the end of October. The venue was originally established in 1995 and has graced Queen Street West for thirty years. The venue released a statement on Instagram that reads,

”After many unforgettable years on Queen Street West, our time is coming to a close. The lease term comes to an end at the end of October and the property will be returned to the owner for a new chapter. While we’re closing this door, we’re grateful for the countless nights filled with music and amazing energy that brought this space to life.

To the fans, artists, staff, and community - thank you. You made this place more than a venue. You made it a home for memories we’ll never forget.”

PONY release video for “Superglue”

PONY have released a video for their new song “Superglue”. The video was self-directed by the band. The song is available digitally now via Take This To Heart Records and appears to be a standalone single. PONY will be touring North America with Pool Kids starting later this week and released their album Velveteen in 2023. Check out the video below.

The Mock-Ups release debut single

A few days ago, the existence of a new band called The Mock-Ups was announced on Gauzy Records’ Instagram page. The band is made up of Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance on vocals and bass, Michael Schulz (who is the head of Signature Artists at Fender) on guitar, and members of The Interrupters Kevin Bivona, Jesse Bivona, and Aimee Interrupter, on keys and production, drums, and backing vocals respectively. The band has released their debut single, “I Wanna Know Your Name” which was engineered by the late Doug McKean, who passed away in 2022. Check out the song below.

Tomas Lindberg of At The Gates has passed away

Tomas Lindberg of At The Gates has passed away

Tomas Lindberg, frontman of At The Gates, has passed away. He was 52 years old and had been battling adenoid cystic carcinoma, a form of oral cancer, for a year and a half. His passing was confirmed by his family on the Swedish news outlet SVT Nyheter. David Isberg of Opeth released a statement on Instagram that reads,

The Lawrence Arms have announced details for their upcoming War on X-Mas shows. The shows will take place on December 5 and December 6 at Metro in Chicago, Illinois. Cork-based Cardinals have announced that they will be releasing their debut full-length album. It is called Masquerade and will be out on February 13, 2026. The band has also released a video for the title track, which was directed and produced by Greg Purcell. Cardinals released their self-titled debut EP in 2024.
